David Zwerin

Partner Lawyer

I am so proud of the dedicated legal work our firm provides to give every one of our clients the best possible chance at the best possible recovery.

Bio

David learned at a young age that nothing great is achieved in life without a relentless work ethic and tireless dedication to excel. David brings these qualities to Hill & Moin, LLP where he has served as the firm’s senior trial counsel since 2016.

David has dedicated his practice to zealously representing hard-working New Yorkers injured as a result of someone else’s negligence. David gained invaluable early experience working closely with the founder of a small plaintiff’s personal injury practice in lower Manhattan, assisting on many matters including a traumatic brain injury case against the New York City Transit Authority where the plaintiff was awarded $16 million dollars.

David believes that all victims deserve a lawyer who truly cares about them and will work tirelessly to secure the best possible result. “Insurance companies will do everything possible to pay an injured victim as little as possible. At Hill & Moin, we carefully review every aspect of a client’s case and determine a legal strategy tailored to give that client the best possible chance to maximize their financial recovery.”

Education

David is a graduate of Washington University in Saint Louis and Hofstra University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the state of New York and the United States Courts of the Eastern District of New York and Southern District of New York.

David is a proud resident of Forest Hills, Queens, where he resides with his wife, two boys, and their dog. In his spare time, Mr. Zwerin enjoys bicycling, hiking, and swimming.

Recent Results

David recently secured a verdict of $1,100,000 for an injured restaurant worker who suffered a fractured elbow because of his building’s failure to maintain its stairs in a safe condition.

David recently obtained a maximum $500,000 arbitration award for a pedestrian who was struck by a car while crossing a street, sustaining serious, permanent injuries to her knee. Notably, even though the pedestrian was outside of a cross walk, she was found to bear no responsibility for the accident.

Publications

David is the co-author of “Educating the Masses: Expanding Title VII to Include Sexual Orientation in the Education Arena,” Hofstra Labor and Employment Law Journal, Vol. 25, Issue 1, Article 12 (2007). David is very proud that 13 years after arguing that the Supreme Court should interpret Title VII to protect sexual orientation discrimination, the Court made that ruling in Bostock v. Clayton County Georgia (2020).
